Soprano Mar Morán will perform as a soloist in the stage premiere of the contemporary zarzuela El orgullo de quererte, which will be presented at the Sala Roja Concha Velasco of Teatros del Canal (Madrid) from September 11 to 21, 2025.
With a libretto by Felipe Nieto and original music by Javier Carmena, this new production is directed by Albert Boadella and Martina Cabanas, with Alondra de la Parra conducting the ORCAM – Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid.
Set in contemporary Madrid during the Pride celebrations, the work offers a modern perspective on the Spanish lyrical tradition, blending humor, emotion, and musical styles such as bolero, fox-trot, and pasodoble to tell a story of love, identity, and freedom.

Soprano Mar Morán will close the IV Cycle of Leonese Composers, organized by the Instituto Leonés de Cultura, with a voice and piano recital alongside maestro Aurelio Viribay. The program, entitled Songs for Antonio Machado, commemorates the 150th anniversary of the poet’s birth and features music by Jesús García Leoz, Jesús Ángel Rodríguez Recio, Joaquín Rodrigo, and Miguel Asíns Arbó, as well as premieres by Jesús Legido and María José Cordero.
Zarzuela by candlelight - Concert

As part of the “Lyrical and Classical Music by Candlelight” series and within the autumn concert program organized by the Montijo City Council, soprano Mar Morán will present a very special recital in collaboration with pianist Eduardo Moreno. Entitled “Zarzuela by Candlelight”, the concert will take place at the historic façade of the Convento de Santa Clara, which will be transformed for the occasion into an intimate and atmospheric stage, lit solely by the soft glow of candlelight.
The program offers a journey through some of the most emblematic pieces of the zarzuela repertoire, performed in a setting that enhances the emotional proximity and expressive richness of this lyrical genre.

Musetta is a passionate and dazzling character, offering moments of great dramatic and musical brilliance—most notably the celebrated aria “Quando me’n vo’”, a true emblem of the operatic repertoire.
This highly anticipated debut also marks the return of the artist to the Burgos stage, where in 2024 she starred to great acclaim as Violetta Valéry in La traviata, receiving an enthusiastic welcome from both audiences and critics alike.
